What charging power can you have at home

All our chargers go up to 22 kW. The power you actually charge at depends on the current available on site.

Power by supply type

SupplyCurrentPower
Single-phase16 A3.7 kW
Single-phase32 A7.4 kW
Three-phase16 A11 kW
Three-phase32 A22 kW

Values are approximate. Available current depends on your grid connection, the contracted power and what else is running in the house at the same time.

The charger adapts to your supply

The charger is configured never to exceed the available current. With a consumption sensor in the panel, it adjusts its power in real time to the rest of the household load, so the main breaker does not trip.

The car has a limit too

Every electric car has an on-board charger that limits AC charging power. Many cars accept a maximum of 7.4 kW or 11 kW. The car charges at the lower of the two values: the charger’s or the car’s.

How long a charge takes

For about 50 kWh, roughly 300 km of range:

  • At 7.4 kW: about 7 hours
  • At 11 kW: about 4.5 hours
  • At 22 kW: about 2.5 hours, if the car accepts that power

Frequently asked questions

Do I need three-phase for 22 kW?

Yes. On single-phase the maximum is about 7.4 kW.

Can I start on single-phase and move to three-phase later?

Yes. The charger stays the same; only the supply and configuration change.

How do I find out what supply I have?

Send us a photo of the meter and the electrical panel and we will tell you what power you can have.
